I had my ford explorer 2008 diagnosed and repaired through Preedy's. Basically I had an intermittent no start issue where the engine turned over but randomly it wasnt started. I noticed it seemed to happen most frequently on hot days. I drove it to Preedys on a day where the car was able to start and they kept it a couple days while I had them do other minor maintenance work on it and were able to replicate it. It ended up being an ignition control board issue. Apparently they also found my fuel pump had failed as well, and they were unable to get the pump to work at all. I was extremely suspicious of this because as mentioned I had driven the car to their shop, so I failed to see how the fuel pump could be faulty unless there was negligence on Preedy's part which resulted in damage to my fuel pump, but Chris was very thorough in his notes on the work done to my car and he kept the old fuel pump at my request so I could inspect it myself, so the pump going out while at their shop may just have been my bad luck since it was being controlled by a faulty control board. After all was said and done, I was down 3 grand between the fuel pump and control board replacement in addition to a bunch of other minor work i had done, but my car has been consistently working since then, so I cant complain too much. I do find it highly suspicious that I had such a major part as a fuel pump fail while in their shop, but them providing the old pump and taking the time to go over their notes with me made me feel a lot more comfortable than I otherwise would have.
